Ravi sprinted through the dense underbrush of the Dark Forest, Kavitha by his side. The trees seemed to blur together as they weaved between them, their breathing synchronized as they desperately tried to escape the pursuing forces.
"Keep going, Ravi!" Kavitha yelled, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of danger. "We need to find shelter!"
Ravi didn't need to be told twice; his legs pounded the earth, his feet barely touching the ground as he devoured the distance. The sound of Leela's laughter carried on the wind, her voice a cruel mockery of their situation.
Ajeet's men were closing in, their shouts and curses growing louder by the second. Ravi spotted a dark shape looming ahead and veered towards it, Kavitha mirroring his movement.
As they burst through the trees, a massive stone temple loomed before them, its entrance a gaping mouth in the side of the hill. Without hesitation, they sprinted towards it, the sound of their pursuers mere yards behind.
Ravi and Kavitha dived through the entrance just as the temple's massive wooden doors slammed shut behind them, the sound of splintering wood and screams echoing through the halls.
Breathless and shaking, they paused for a moment, listening to the muffled chaos outside. "How long can we hold them off?" Ravi asked, his eyes scanning the dimly lit hall.
Kavitha's gaze flicked to the temple's central courtyard, where a massive stone statue of the Hindu deity, Shiva, stood watch. "That's a good question," she replied. "We can't stay here forever."
Ravi's eyes narrowed as he took in the temple's layout. "Then we need to make this place our temporary fortress. We can barricade the doors andβ"
A loud rumble shook the ground, and the temple began to shudder. The stone statue of Shiva swayed ominously, its eyes blazing with an otherworldly energy.
"What's happening?" Kavitha demanded, her voice trembling.
Ravi's eyes locked onto the statue, his mind racing. "I think it's Ajeet's doing. He must have used some sort of dark magic toβ"
A dark, swirling vortex erupted from the statue's pedestal, its tendrils snaking towards Ravi and Kavitha. The air seemed to ripple and distort, as if reality itself was unraveling.
Rohan emerged from the shadows, his eyes blazing with an unholy light. "It's time, Ravi," he hissed. "Time to see if you're worthy of the power you've been seeking."
Ravi snarled, baring his teeth. "You'll never get your hands on me, Rohan."
With a fierce cry, Ravi launched himself at Rohan, their bodies crashing together in a flurry of punches and kicks. Kavitha joined the fray, her movements lightning-fast as she struck from unexpected angles.
The battle raged on, the temple shuddering and creaking beneath their feet. Ravi and his allies fought with every ounce of strength they possessed, their lives hanging by a thread.
As the chaos reached its crescendo, Ravi caught a glimpse of a figure watching from the shadows β a figure with eyes that seemed to see right through him.
Aditya, the mysterious young master of the forbidden techniques, stood silent witness to the battle, his gaze burning with an unseen intensity.
Ravi's heart skipped a beat as their eyes met, a spark of recognition igniting between them. For an instant, the world around them melted away, leaving only the question: what did Aditya want?
