Ravi's boots crunched on the gravel path as he traversed the winding trail through the dense jungle. The air was thick with humidity, and the scent of blooming flowers hung heavy over the forest. He followed the map etched on a piece of parchment, one that Leela had given him before their hasty departure from Ayodhya. The silence was deafening, punctuated only by the distant calls of birds and the rustle of leaves. As he walked, the trees grew taller and the underbrush thicker. Vines and creepers snaked around the trunks, forming a canopy above that filtered the sunlight. Ravi pushed aside a curtain of foliage, revealing a clearing in the center of which stood an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. A faint glow emanated from within, drawing Ravi closer. He circled the temple three times, a habit he'd developed from his youth, before pushing open the creaking doors. The interior was simple, with a single statue of the elephant-headed deity and a flickering oil lamp casting eerie shadows on the walls. Ravi approached the statue, offering a silent prayer to his ancestors, before moving towards the back of the temple. There, a narrow stair led down into the darkness. The air grew colder, and Ravi could feel a subtle energy emanating from the earth below. He descended the stairs, his eyes adjusting to the dim light. At the bottom, a vast cavern stretched out before him, the ceiling lost in darkness. Water dripped from the walls, forming a network of crystal-clear streams that meandered through the cavern like veins. Ravi's footsteps echoed off the walls as he made his way deeper into the cavern. He passed beneath an archway, its surface etched with ancient inscriptions that seemed to shimmer in the flickering light. The air grew thick with an otherworldly presence, one that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. As he turned a corner, Ravi spotted a figure standing at the far end of the cavern. The figure was shrouded in shadows, making it impossible to discern any features. Ravi's instincts screamed at him to turn back, but something about the figure drew him closer. He took a step forward, and the figure turned to face him. For a moment, they simply regarded each other, the only sound the gentle lapping of the streams against the rocks. Then, in a voice that sent shivers down Ravi's spine, the figure spoke: "Gurukul's secrets are not so easily kept, Ravi. And neither are yours." Ravi's heart skipped a beat as he realized the truth. The figure was not who he thought it was. His eyes locked onto the figure's, and he saw a glimmer of recognition in their depths. Ajeet's face stared back at him, his expression twisted in a cruel smile. "You've been playing a very long game, Ravi," Ajeet continued, his voice dripping with malice. "One that I'm afraid you're about to lose." Rohan's name echoed in Ravi's mind, and he felt a pang of betrayal. Had his friend been playing him all along? The cavern seemed to grow darker, the air thickening with an unseen threat. Ajeet took a step closer, his eyes glinting with triumph. "You see, Ravi, I've been working alongside a rather powerful patron. One who's been guiding me in my pursuit of the Pranavant. And with their help, I believe we can crush the very foundations of Ayodhya." Ravi's mind reeled as the truth dawned on him. Ajeet's betrayal was not just a personal affront; it was a catastrophic blow to the entire city. The stakes had just doubled, and Ravi knew he had to act fast to prevent the destruction of everything he held dear.
